Harold "Bud" Perkins

Lloyd Perkins passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center.   A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday August 21, at First Lutheran Church, 800 N 7th St, Bismarck. Burial will take place 11am Monday at Sunne Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Wilton, ND. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place.  Born Harold Lloyd Perkins on January 17, 1930 in rural Wilton, ND to Hannah (Tosseth) and Harold Eugene Perkins, he was known as “Bud” to his family and friends.  He attended Willmoore Elementary, Bismarck Junior High and graduated from Bismarck High School. He attended North Dakota Agricultural College but returned to Wilton to help his Uncle Albert Johnson farm.  He married Marjory Lein at Sunne Lutheran Church on a freezing New Year’s Eve and they spent 67 years together farming first near Wilton until 1958 and then at Menoken until 2011. He served on the Bismarck Rural Fire Board, Capital Electric Coop Board of Directors, and North Dakota Statewide REC Board of Directors.  He was active in 4-H as a member and a leader.  He was a member of Sunne Lutheran Church and a long time member of First Lutheran Church Bismarck and served on the church council. He was a frequent spectator at Dacotah Speedway cheering for car 89. His favorite hobbies were restoring Co-op tractors with the help of his sons and collecting toy tractors and implements that have been a favorite of his grandsons and great-grandsons when they come to visit. Bud is survived by his wife Marge, his children Julie & Alan Qual, Lisbon; Sheila Perkins, LaCrosse, WI; Patsy & Dan Thompson, Bismarck; Steve and Colette Perkins, Bismarck; Jeff & Nancy Perkins, Bismarck; his grandchildren Jon & Courtney Qual, Tiffany Perkins, Mark & Angie Qual, Brittany & AJ Renner, Abby & Mike Krebs, Brandon Perkins, Tim & Cassie Perkins, Molly Perkins, Zac Thompson; his great grandchildren Hailey, Blake & Case Qual, Ellery & Carson Qual, Liam & Aubrey Renner and Mason Krebs. He is also survived by his siblings Adeline Schaubert, Warren Perkins, Jay Perkins and Linda Bowhall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sunne Lutheran Church, Wilton or First Lutheran Church, Bismarck.
