Harold "Harry" William Baier

December 15, 1947 — November 5, 2018

Harold “Harry” William Baier, 70, Bismarck, went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2018. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, November 9, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, November 9, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Bismarck. Harry was born to Bill and Ester Baier in Hazen, ND, where he was raised and attended school. He enlisted in the Army and served two years in the Vietnam War. Following being honorably discharged from the military, he returned home to Hazen where he worked at his family’s bakery. Harry married Laura “Jeannie” Giardini on October 26, 1974, and the couple had two children, daughter Shawn and son Alex. The family moved to Bismarck after Shawn was born and Harry started working at the Sweetheart Bakery until his retirement. Harry had a passion for the Lord, and his family and friends. He was always there if you needed a hand and always with a smile. He loved hunting and fishing and adored his grandkids. Harry is survived by his wife, Jeannie; daughter, Shawn (Joel) Peterson and their children, David and Matthew; his son Alex (Melissa) Baier and their children, Hunter and Alyssa; sister, Ruth Reitan; brothers-in-law, Charlie (Rhonda) Giardini, Tony (Kathy) Giardini, Tim (fiancé, Jessica) Giardini, and Peter (Vicki) Giardini; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Harriet.
