Henrietta Foreman, 81, Bismarck, died May 9, 2018, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 15 at United Church of Christ, 1200 E. Highlands Acre Rd., Bismarck. Interment will be at the N.D. Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Henrietta Ruth Abraham Foreman was born Nov. 15, 1936, in Dickinson, N.D., to Stanley and Ruth (Malone) Abraham. The oldest of four children, she spent her early years on a ranch in the Badlands near Medora. She attended schools in Greeley, Colo., Almont, N.D., and New Salem, N.D., graduating in 1955 from New Salem High School, where she participated in numerous choral and band activities. She attended Dickinson State University, where she met Howard Foreman of Marmarth, N.D. They were married in New Salem on Sept. 29, 1956. Blessed with a beautiful soprano voice, Henrietta sang in church and community choirs, and performed solos on countless occasions throughout her life. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines of Bismarck for many years, and sang in one of the group’s quartets. The Foremans were active in United Church of Christ, Bismarck, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Henrietta was employed at a Dickinson auto parts store, and at banks in Dickinson, New Salem, and at the Bank of North Dakota. Happiest when singing, she joyfully took the lead on family songfests with our Dad at the piano. Her relatives and friends were important to her; she loved family gatherings and entertaining. All who knew Henrietta appreciated her generosity, friendliness, and her bubbly and positive nature. Henrietta leaves her daughter, Tammy Foreman Simpson (Jimmy Letulle), Texas; her son, Jack Foreman, Riverside, Calif.; four grandchildren, Joshua (Tiff) Remmich, Richland, Mo.; Nathaniel Remmich, Fargo; Elizabeth Simpson (William) Villella and Jessica Simpson (Jake) Lackey, both of Texas; great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn Remmich, Savanah (Ty) Timmons, Krystal, Jacob, Dakota and Chase Remmich, Aiden and Sheldon Villella; and one great-great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Timmons. She also leaves her siblings, Daniel (Diane) Abraham, Centennial, Colo.; Jordis (Marc) Conrad, Bismarck; brother-in-law, Tom Moran, Mountain View, Calif.; sister-in-law, Juanita Foreman Maynard, Spokane, Wash.; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; sister, Iris Moran; parents-in-law, William and Lydia Foreman; five brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; a great-grandson, Caleb Connors; and a grandnephew, Johnathan Nyberg.
