Idell Ioan (Huber) Albers passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 surrounded by family. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 10:30 AM, at Zion Lutheran Church 413 E Ave D, Bismarck. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Reception and fellowship will follow the service at the church.
Idell was born on March 5, 1937 to Albert and Hattie (Guenthner) Huber in rural Otter Creek, ND. She attended early school in rural Otter Creek, middle school in Hazen, and graduated from Bismarck High School.
Idell was the wife of Norman Albers. She was the mother to sons Kurt Albers, Craig Albers and daughter Karla (Arthur) Whittey. Grandmother to KateLynn Albers, Tyrel Albers and Alexis Whittey. Sister to BellJean (Tony) Privratsky and Lloyd (Emma) Huber. Aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Dear friend to all the ladies of the Tidy Friendship Club.
She married Norman Albers on October 5, 1958. Their early married years were spent living and farming on Idell’s family homestead. In 1961 they moved to Bismarck where they raised their family and lived life. Idell enjoyed her work at KFYR TV, volunteer work at her church and her gatherings of her “Tidy” friends. She spent many hours sewing and crafting and many hours in her kitchen making goodies. Norman and Idell spent retirement traveling across the United States, enjoying grandkids, fishing at the lake house and visiting many friends.
Idell is survived by her children Kurt Albers, Craig Albers and daughter Karla (Arthur) Whittey; grandchildren KateLynn Albers, Tyrel Albers and Alexis Whittey; sister, BellJean (Tony) Privratsky; brother Lloyd; sister-in-law Corene (Les) Henke and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; her brothers Melwon, Vernon, and Arles; and sisters-in-law Ella and Betty.
The family is asking for memorial donations to be sent to the ND Alzheimer’s Association.
