Isabel Johnson, 97, Bismarck, died May 17, 2019, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck.
She will be interred with her husband, Arthur Johnson, at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, OH.
Isabel was born August 11, 1921, near Bathgate, ND, to Arthur and Evelyn (Gibney) Tillett. She graduated from Bathgate High School and attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND. Isabel married Lyle D. Lere of Fargo. He was killed in action in Germany during World War II. In December 1945 she married Arthur Johnson and lived in Columbus, OH, for 37 years. Isabel was employed at Farmers Insurance Group and retired from there after 22 years. Her husband passed away in 1983 and in 1989 she moved back to Cavalier, ND, to be near her family.
Isabel was a member of First United Methodist Church and served as financial secretary for 12 years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, traveling, and especially spending time with her sisters.
Isabel is survived by her sister, Lana Rich, Sparks, NV; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both her husbands; her parents; four sisters and four brothers.
