Jack Roth

Jack Roth, 85, Mandan, formerly of Kintyre, passed away on August 19, 2019 after a long, fulfilled and richly blessed life. 

Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kintyre on Saturday, August 24 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Susan Anderson officiating.  Burial will be at the Kintyre Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 23, from 5:00-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Jack was born May 24, 1934 on the farm Northeast of Kintyre where he spent most of his life. He was the second of seven children born to John and Clara (Sunde) Roth.  Jack began working on the family farm beside his parents and siblings at an early age.  In the early 1950’s, Jack purchased his first piece of land. Later he purchased the family farm near Kintyre, where he farmed and ranched.  Jack was a skilled and accomplished farmer and rancher achieving a success few can ever achieve in a very difficult and unpredictable business.  Jack loved his life’s work; the farm, his cattle and especially his horses. He would still be farming and ranching today if not for medical complications.  To Jack it was truly an honor to work and to work hard.

On June 15, 1957, Jack married the love of his life, Helen Jutila, in Kintyre. They had three daughters-Jack’s greatest pride-Leann, KayAnn and Cleo. 

Jack served in the Army from 1957-1959 and was a very proud Veteran.  He served on many boards: soil conservation, township, church council, elevator, cemetery and the American Legion.  He was also a member of the Kintyre Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife Helen; daughters, Leann (David) Cesario, KayAnn and Cleo; he was a proud grandfather to Nicole (Terry), Erin, Ryan, Ciara, Joshua and Breanna (Natalie) and a great grandfather of , Trevor, Ashton, Tara, Jacob, Sloan, Evan, Finnegan and Brynlee; he is also survived by his brothers, Mel and Bill (Dora).

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara; sisters, Geraldine and Kay; brothers, Don and Jim and grandson, Ryan.
