Jacob Charles Aberle was born on May 14, 1989. Jacob's struggles and pain ended on April 21, 2023. He was a beloved son, brother, and uncle.

A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 19 at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck.

Burial will be held 1 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Jake graduated from Saint Mary's Central High School in May 2007. Jake attended Wahpeton State School of Science for one year following high school. At the age of 19, Jake enlisted and became a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and achieved the rank of Lance Corporal.

While on active-duty Jake provided humanitarian relief, assisted in training foreign troops, and was involved in military actions in the Arabian Sea. Jake had plans to continue his military career and following that to join law enforcement. Due to an injury sustained while on active duty, he was not able to fulfill these plans and received an Honorable discharge. Jacob received the following medals while on active duty; The Good Conduct medal, the Humanitarian Service medal, the Sea Service Deployment medal, Global War on Terrorism medal, the National Defense Service medal, the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation medal, the Navy Unit Commendation medal, and the Sharp Shooter Rifle badge.

Jacob was a proud, kind, and quiet man and is gone far too soon.

Jacob joins his father, Nicholas S. Aberle I; his grandparents, Sebastian and Helen Aberle and Carl and Erma Mickelson; and many aunts and uncles.

Jacob is survived by his mother, Shirley (Aberle) Tome; stepfather, James Tome; brothers, Nick and wife Katherine; nieces, Anna and Elizabeth; and nephew, Thomas; brother, Matthew; and wife, Corrie.
