James (Jim) Grosz,84, long time resident of Breckenridge, recently residing in Bismarck, ND, passed away on August 13, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday August 20, 2018 at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, 519 Raymond St, Bismarck. A vigil/rosary will take place at 3:00 pm on Sunday August 19, 2018 at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 East Divide Avenue, Bismarck. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery. Jim served with the Army as a radio operator in Alaska from 1954-1956. Following his military service, he went on to attend school at North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, graduating in 1958 as an Auto Mechanic. Jim worked for a short period in Herman, MN and returned to Breckenridge in 1963 to work at Smith Motors in Wahpeton. He retired after 40 + years of service. Jim loved to travel, take pictures, gardening, and camping with the family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Genevieve (Smith) Grosz, Bismarck; his son, David Grosz, Bloomington, MN; his daughters, Lorraine Zafke, Bismarck, ND, and Janet Shirk, Shawnee, OK; his five grandchildren, Errol and Steven Zafke, Jason, Sarah, and Elijha Shirk; and eight great grandchildren, Carter, Conner, Rilee, Xavier, Cloe, Grace, Emma, and Levi.
