Jeanette E. Oster

Jeanette E. Oster, 80, passed away on July14, 2017. Services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, July 21, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Craig Schweitzer officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, July 20, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Friday at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Jeanette was born on January 30, 1937, in New Salem, ND, the daughter of Walter and Emma Matthiesen. She married Arthur Oster on June 10, 1959 in New Salem, ND. They had 5 children. Jeanette was a member of Good Shepherd Church. Jeanette worked at US Bank. She loved to play games especially pinochle on Saturdays. She also loved to sew and crochet. Jeanette will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Arthur; daughter, Marlys Berg (Jerry) of Monument, CO and their children Jamie Ramer (Dylan) of Petyon, CO, and Matthew Berg (Kinsey) of Odessa, TX; son, David Oster (Barb) of Forest Lake, MN and their children Michael Oster and Nathan Oster; daughter, Karen Oster of Bismarck, ND; son, Timothy Oster (Cori) of Plymouth, MN and their children Kate Oster of Minnetonka, MN, Megan Oster of St. Paul, MN and Elisabeth Oster; daughter Vicky Schneider (Jeff) of Prior Lake, MN and their children Zachary Schneider (Jocelyn) of Bismarck, ND and Jordan Ammons (Syrus) of Hopkins, MN; five great-grandchildren, Landon, Gavin and Kayley Ramer; Kaydyn Berg and Tyson Ammons; sisters, Delores Reis (Larry), Meta Suko, Ruth Ann Baumgartner, and Sharon Paul; brother, Gordon Matthiesen; brothers-in-law, Harry Oster and Vernon Oster; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Maw, Delores Dockter (Leo), Shirley Schulz and Deb Diede (Randy); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Shirley Matthiesen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bismarck or the ND Veteran’s Cemetery in Mandan.
