Jeanne Kay Mehlhoff, 78, died peacefully in Phoenix, AZ, on December 4, 2018 at Life Care Center of Scottsdale.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 14, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck, with Rev. Merle Hoots officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm Friday at the Tuttle Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Jeanne was born February 12, 1940 to John and Freda (Vollmer) Mehlhoff of Tuttle, ND. After graduating from Tuttle High School, she attended Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, and graduated from the College of Nursing at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND.
Jeanne began her nursing career as a public health nurse in Phoenix, AZ. She served in the Phoenix area for many years becoming Director of Health Services Administration. Jeanne was a very kind, compassionate and professional person. As a caregiver, Jeanne exemplified the heart of nursing as she lovingly spent several years assisting her mother.
Jeanne grew up in the Tuttle Nazarene Church. Her faith was a very important part of her life.
Jeanne enjoyed music, piano, reading, meeting with friends, traveling, and was very accomplished at playing the marimba.
Jeanne is survived by her nephew Alan Mays and his wife Tina, Phoenix, AZ; her niece Karen Tricoli and husband Michael, Bartlett, IL; and great-nieces and nephews, Heather, Jonathan, Daniel and Grace Tricoli.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Hap Mays.
