Eugenia Eckert

Eugenia "Jeannie" Eckert, 98, of Bismarck, left her earthly dwelling for her heavenly home on March 12, 2025.

Interment will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan where Jeannie will be reunited with her husband, Casper.

Jeannie was born on February 9, 1927, in Napoleon, the daughter of Wendelin and Christina (Weigel) Scherr. She was the fourth of fourteen children. 

She married Casper Eckert on October 20, 1947. She and Casper worked together operating Eckert and Sons Painting and Cap Eckert Painting. 

Jeannie was trained as a beautician and received an award for her "poodle" hair style. Jeannie was an exceptional cook, baker, seamstress, and gardener. Her passion was growing flowers and vegetables. 

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Sharon (Mark Foss) and Sandra; grandsons, Justin (Erin) and Corey Weichel; great granddaughters, Evejean and Helena; brothers, Joe and Pius (Delphine); sisters, Bette Walth, Maggie Bonnet, and Christina Mutchler; and numerous nephews and nieces. 

Jeannie was preceded in death by her husband, Casper; and siblings, Mary, Katie, Irene, George, Albinus, Ralph, Alvin, and Wendelin.
