Mandan

Jeffrey Seda, 47, Mandan, passed away on December 2, 2024 at Sanford Hospital.

A memorial service is pending in Sioux Falls at a later date.

Jeffrey was born on March 8, 1977 in Bismarck, ND to Greg Seda and Julia Kills Crow. He was raised and attended school in Fort Yates. In high school, he got into Lakota Culture and American Indian Movement through friends.

In pursuit of his passion for the outdoors, Jeffrey ventured to South Dakota, aspiring to become a forest ranger. However, he found his calling in the construction industry, dedicating himself to this line of work for the remainder of his life. His journeys led him through Brookings and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and even to Oregon for a period, before he returned home to North Dakota in 2014.

Jeffrey was more than just a skilled laborer; he was a vibrant spirit whose love for the outdoors was matched only by his enthusiasm for sports. A talented athlete, he excelled in basketball during his younger years and was a huge fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the North Dakota State Bison. Jeffrey was known for his infectious humor and ability to connect with others. He was proud to be Borica, another name for Puerto Rican. He had a remarkable gift for making people laugh, often leaving them with a smile long after his departure. His generous and caring nature shone brightly in every interaction—whether he was bestowing playful nicknames or forging new friendships with anyone he met.

He is survived by his children, Nevaeh, Xavier, Tevean and Kyliana Seda; granddaughter, Elianna Seda; father, Greg Seda; siblings, Rico Seda, Lucy Seda, Jovita Seda, Tammy “Monty” Seda, Jayson (Lindsay) Seda, Margaret (Chris “Amigo”) Ferrari, Angelo Seda, Angela Seda and Wakiaya Seda; aunts, Iris Ramey and Sonia Seda; uncle, Nelson Seda; girlfriend, Nikki Krueger, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia; aunts and uncles, Ernestine Kills Crow, Bernard Kills Crow, Louise Kills Crow, Julio Seda, Alice Seda, Nancy Seda and Maria Todisco; grandparents, Theodore Kills Crow and Mary Standing Soldier- Kills Crow, Gregorio Seda and Maria Seda and nephew, Jordan Seda-Beane.
