Joel “Joe” John Boelter, 66, Bismarck, died Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at a local hospital. Cremation has taken place.
Joel was born October 1, 1953 in Bismarck, the son of John and Freda (Zoller) Boelter. He attended school in Bismarck and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1971. Following graduation, he attended the State School of Science in Wahpeton.
Joe married Pearlene Schultz on May 24, 1975 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck. They had one son, Zac. Joe and Pearlene both worked for Melroe Equipment for several years. He worked at Amcon Distributing before becoming disabled.
His hobbies included music, playing the guitar and attending rock concerts. His favorite band was Pink Floyd. He often was invited back stage and knew many band members personally.
Joe is survived by Pearlene, Bismarck; his son, Zac, KS; sister-in-law, Paulette (Dennis) Engel, Bismarck; sisters, Carol (Larry) Fetch, Ennis, TX, and Mary (Tim) Link, Cheyenne, WY; sister-in-law, Polly Boelter, Haiku, HI; nieces, Alicia (Paul) Schubert, Sugar Loaf, TX, Glenda Rossberg, Washington D.C., Lori (Tom) McCoy, St. Michael, MN, Lisa (Robert) Kennedy and Darcy (Bob) Westeren, Eagan, MN; nephews, Matthew Link, Laramie, WY, Kurt (Michelle) Kuehl, Redding, CA, Paul (Joy) Kuehl, Bismarck and Mark (Sheree) Kuehl; one aunt and many cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, father-in-law, Lyle Schultz, Bismarck, sister, Mar-Jo Norbeck, Mesa, AZ and his brother, Brian Boelter, Haiku, HI.
Joe’s ashes will be placed at Menoken Cemetery, Menoken at the Boelter Family Plot. There will be no funeral service.
