John Glovich, 93, Bismarck, ND, formerly of Braddock, ND, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 at St. Vincents Care Center, surrounded by his children.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, Nov. 21, at Ascension Catholic Church, 1905 S 3rd St, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. A rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 PM.
Burial will be held at the St. Katherines Cemetery, Braddock, ND.
John was born in Malice, Poland on June 4, 1931, to Stanley and Sofia Glovich. His Polish name was Jan Glowacz and changed to John Leo Glovich when he and his family arrived in the United States in 1936. He married Caroline Volk on October 8, 1952. They farmed northwest of Braddock until 1997 when they moved to Braddock. In 2002 they moved to Bismarck.
John entertained with his accordion music for 78 years. He was active within the community serving in numerous positions.
John is survived by his children Kathleen Sackman of Bismarck, Darrell Glovich (Sandy Glovich) of Moffit, ND, Lonnie (Mark) Kuipers of Oakes, ND, and Brenda Vasichek of Bismarck; ten grandchildren, Ann, Lisa, Carri, Michelle, Steven, Kelly, Andrew, Katie, Matthew and Adam; 7 great- grandchildren, Jacob, James, Cambry, Nicholas, Cali, Leah and Lainey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sister Donna (Paul) Hausauer, brother Roger (Theresa) Glovich, sons-in-law Larry Sackman and Jeff Vasichek, grandson Jonathon Kuipers, and several in-laws.
