He was very imaginative and always entertained his teachers in school with the different stories he would write. Jon also enjoyed drawing and when he was 10 created a comic book called, “It’s Just an Alligator Dear” that was critiqued by a local artist. He had a knack for computers and computer programming, he even taught his teachers in elementary school how to use the new computers. This continued on into high school and he was employed at the age of 15 with Sykes because of how knowledgeable he was about computers. As an adult, Jon expanded his interests to include carpentry and cooking. He enjoyed the companionship of his beloved dog, Deeoge, who never left his side. Jon is survived by his son, Slade Schatz; mother, Charlene Evanenko; brothers, Jason Evanenko and Justin Evanenko; sisters, Jennifer (Donaven) Palahniuk, Jessica Evanenko, and Jaylene (Jordan) Vliet; and well as numerous nieces and nephews.
