It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph "Joe" Weinzirl, 69, Mandan, who left us on March 7, 2024, due to natural causes.
A Mass of Christina Burial will be held at 10:30AM, Wednesday, March 13 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, 801 1st St SE, Mandan.
Visitation will be held an hour before the service begins.

Weinzirl, son of Joseph & Ella Weinzirl, was born January 4, 1955 in Herreid, SD. He graduated from Herreid High School and went on to train as a mechanic at Watertown Vocational School. This is also where he met the love of his life, Wendy who he married on June 1, 1974. The couple moved their young family to Mandan, ND in 1977 where they still reside.
Joe started his mechanic career at Iten Pontiac in Mandan. Due to an injury, he retrained as a machinist/welder at NDSCS in Whapeton. He worked at Modern Machine Works until 1997 when he had to retire.
He was an adrenaline junkie. Joe got a kick out of racing, flying, roller coasters, ziplines, traveling, playing music, and making moonshine. He enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Joe is survived by his wife, Wendy; daughter, Bree (James); son, Coby, son Derek (Jami); two sisters, Bernadette Fjeldheim and Beatrice Goetz; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Ella; his brother, Stanley; sister, Joan and daughter-in-law, Kym.
