There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Our beloved Mother, Julia L. Stromberg, was born to Peter and Antoinette (Evangelist) Giardini on October 4, 1924. She was their fourth child. All of her brothers and sisters, Sam, Herman, Anna, Agnes, and Peter, and her parents, preceded her in going to heaven. Our Mother was an avid reader. When she received Jesus Christ as her Savior her favorite book became the Bible, which she read every day. She prayed faithfully for her family and that is a treasure that will last all of our lives. Mom married our Dad, Charles Jack Stromberg, on May 26, 1948, and that marriage lasted until February 2007, when our Dad went to heaven to be with his Savior. She had many accomplishments in her life: she went to college to become a bookkeeper, she was the author of two published books, she ran for office and won, and so much more. But if you knew our Mom, she would tell you her greatest accomplishment was her family, she gave and gave. Julia’s daughters, Pamela and Marcia, will miss her so much but we will not grieve like those who have no hope. We will see her again in heaven and she will be healthy and whole. Her sons-in-law, Patrick Fahn and Larry Rehn, will miss her; her grandchildren, J’Patrick, Katie, Jim, Margie, and Julie (her namesake), will miss her as well as her 15 great-grandchildren. We can imagine the Lord saying to her as she enters His kingdom, “Well done good and faithful servant!” And she will be at home.
