Julie Ann was born March 14th 1947 to Donald and Frieda (Wetzel) Hasse in Tappen, ND. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tappen. On March 9th 1952, her brother Lowell joined the family. Julie Ann attend Valley Township # 2 School through the 6th grade and then attended school in Tappen and graduated in 1965. She had also belonged to a 4-H club. She also took piano lessons for several years. Julie Ann attended Saint Joseph's School of Practical Nursing in Dickinson, graduating in the fall of 1966. She then moved to Bismarck and worked in Pediatrics until the spring of 1968 when she moved to Garrison where she worked at the Garrison Memorial Hospital and later worked at the Garrison Nursing Home.
On March 2nd 1974, she married Richard Reimann, son of Fred and Ida (Arldt) Reimann, in Garrison and they resided on the same farm as his folks. On January 18th 1975, our daughter Carmen was born. While living on the farm Julie Ann enjoyed planting flowers outside as well as indoor plants, mowing grass and trimming trees. She also liked country western music, reading, knitting and crocheting. She was a stay-at-home mom until 1980 when she returned to work and was employed at several nursing homes in the area. She was also a YMCA camp nurse for two summers and was thrilled that Carmen was able to go with her. She and Carmen created fond memories going horseback riding those summers. Julie Ann also did home health care as well as some private home care.
In the spring of 2002, Julie Ann joined the American Legion Auxiliary and in the spring of 2003 was elected secretary, a position she held for nine years. In August of 2003 she attended the Legion Convention in Hawaii.
In the spring of 2004, she volunteered to plant flowers at the City Park and I did this for 5 years. In 2007, she was awarded a plaque for the seasonal Outstanding Customer Service Award.
In 2011, she moved to Bismarck and became a member of Faith Lutheran Church and later Bethel Lutheran Church. Her compassion for people and caring nature never ceased and 2017 at age 70, she joined the volunteer group at Sanford Hospital and crocheted and knitted numerous caps for newborns.
