Julius was born on the family farm in rural Linton on September 20, 1942. Farming, cattle, and horses were his life. His time spent on the family farm instilled in him a strong work ethic.

Julius and Carol Wangler were married at St. Boniface in 1963. Together, they lovingly raised five kids: Kevin, Karla, Melody, Kleo and Scott. After they married, they lived in Bismarck for two years where he worked at Dan’s Supervalu. In 1965, they moved to the Wangler family farm until 2000. Julius and Carol then moved to rural Menoken, where he continued with Vetter’s Hay Grinding. After selling his grinder, he worked at St. Mary’s Cemetery as well as Dan’s Supervalu.

Family was always a priority for Julius. He not only taught his children about the Catholic Church, but his love of God led him to be a CCD teacher, Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus, and a Squire’s Leader for young Knights. He took pride in being a volunteer firefighter. He loved spending time with family and taking them camping. Julius was motivated to work hard, get done early and go to Beaver Lake with August and Phyllis Werner’s family.

Julius is survived by his wife, Carol; five children, Kevin (Mary) Vetter, Karla (Joe) Bernhardt, Melody (Mike) Haider, Kleo (Scott) McLeod, and Scott (Shelley) Vetter; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Matt (Lyla) Vetter; sister, Agnes (Leroy) Policky; sister-in-law, Lillian Wangler and many nieces, nephews, and cousins

He was preceded in death by his parents, Valentine and Katie ‘Ell’ Vetter; sisters, Helen (Marv), Tillie (Roy) and Ann; brother, John (Lillian) Vetter; in-laws, Joseph & Magdeline ‘Glatt’ Wangler, Bill (Helen) Wangler, Andy (Cyrella) Wangler, Tony Wangler and his granddaughter, Kelsey Vetter.
