Justin McKnight

Justin Alan McKnight, 36, passed away August 3, 2019 at Banner Desert Medical Center, Mesa AZ with his family by his side. Funeral Service will be held October 1, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Burial will be held October 1, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the ND Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan.

Justin was born to Bruce and Lisa (Kinsey) McKnight on June 5, 1983 at the Minot Air Force Hospital. His early childhood in Minot was spent enjoying baseball, bikes, fishing and camping (and jumping out windows!). Justin loved the outdoors. He moved to California with his mother. He loved riding dirt bike in the desert sands in California with his mother. When he moved back to Bismarck his interests included skateboarding, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cars, motorcycles, and hunting. Justin was an excellent marksman. He graduated from Bismarck High School in 2001. Justin loved the military, he always wanted to be a soldier. He joined the North Dakota National Guard in the spring of 2002. He was assigned to the Bismarck Air Defense Artillery unit. He deployed with the unit to Afghanistan during March 2006 to April 2007. Justin also worked construction in Bismarck and as a lawn care professional in Minot for many years.

Justin is survived by his parents, Bruce McKnight, Minot; Lisa Kinsey, Rugby; his siblings Jessica (her children, Thunder McKnight and Scout-Justine Gunderson) Mandan, Charles (CJ) Kinsey, CO., Jackson and Madison McKnight, Minot; children Cadence and Justin Jr. McKnight, San Tan Valley, AZ and Ava and Austin McKnight, Lincoln, ND.
