Justine Mardikian

Justine Mardikian, 87, Driscoll, ND, went to be in the loving arms of her husband on September 19, 2017. She will be missed by her family and many special friends. Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 22, at Grace Lutheran Church, Driscoll, with Rev. Jake DeBoer officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm Thursday, September 21, at Eastgate-Steele Memorial Chapel, Steele, ND. Burial will be at the Driscoll Township Cemetery, Driscoll, ND. Justine was born to Lester and Cora (French) Card on January 12, 1930, in Bismarck, ND. She attended college and taught school at Thelma Township. Justine married Wenes Mardikian on December 28, 1948. The couple farmed together for 60 years. Justine loved her flowers and always had a big garden to share with her family and friends. Justine loved going to church with her great-granddaughters. She enjoyed playing pinochle with her family and many friends; baking, and was known for her caramel rolls and chocolate cake. Sunday dinner at the farm was very important to her, as she loved being with all of her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, bingo, and trips to the casino. Justine is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Lenny Mardikian, Driscoll, and Dale (Jeri) Mardikian, Lisbon; her grandchildren, Jen (Jody) Riederer, Josh (Angie) Mardikian, Becky Mardikian, Kari (Jody) Zacher, Alex (Jhen) Mardikian, Stephanie Mardikian, Mack Mardikian, Sarah (Justin) Souder, Amee Mardikian; 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, who is expected to arrive soon; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Jean Card; and the Fern Swanson-Hadsall, Vanous, and Hojian families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wenes; son, Vern; daughter, Kathy; brothers; brother-in-law and sister-in-law; parents; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law.
