A beautiful heart stopped beating on September 16, 2017. Katherine Dressler, 97, of Bismarck passed away after a wonderful life filled with love and laughter.A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday September 21, 2017 at Corpus Christi Church, 1919 N 2nd St, Bismarck.Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 20, 2017 at Parkway Funeral Service from 5:00 -7:00 pm where a vigil service will begin at 7:00pm.Katherine was born May 10, 1920, in Brisbane, ND the daughter of Felix and Braxada Leintz, the fourth of nine children. She married Ralph R. Dressler on February 9, 1937. They farmed near Brisbane for two years and then operated a grocery store in Raleigh, ND. They moved to Bismarck where Katherine worked as the bookkeeper.Katherine’s greatest love was her family. She was a wonderful role model as a mother and loving grandmother. She was a devoted and creative homemaker that loved to travel, dance, garden, sew, play cards and gamble at casinos. Everyone was always graciously welcomed with her beautiful smile and warm heart into her home and family. You never left hungry or you were always sent home with a little something. She was a compassionate and gentle lady. Her love and unconditional acceptance inspired all of those she knew, and made them feel special for who they were. We are grateful for her unconditional love, which has shaped all of our lives. She will be deeply missed.Our family would like to thank Augusta Place for the wonderful care that was given to our mother and grandmother all of these years.Katherine is survived by her daughters, Tillie (Jay) Johanneson, CA, BJ (Noel) Mohberg, MI, Bonnie (Jeff) Schuchard, Bismarck, and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Dressler, CA; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren; her brother Adam Leintz; her sister Rose Shobe and her sister in-law Janet Leintz; her brother in-law’s E.J. Dressler, Al Dressler, and Bob Friesz.She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, and son John; parents Felix and Braxada; her brothers Ed, John, and Mike Leintz; and sisters Helen Fergel, Clara Schaff, and Ann Wikenheiser.
