Kathleen Nelson

Kathleen Lorraine Nelson passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in her sleep on October 10th in Bismarck, ND at Sanford Hospital. 

A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, October 15th, at Unitarian Universalist Church located at 818 E Divide Ave, Bismarck, ND. Guests are welcome to come at 3:30 PM.

Kathleen was born in the Park River hospital on June 23rd, 1958. She grew up in Adams, ND and graduated from Adams High School in 1976. 

She went on to graduate from University of North Dakota with a bachelors degree in Social Work. She was the first in her family to go to college. She went on to be a social worker for Burleigh County social services for several decades. She loved her work and the families she worked with. Also adding social worker of the year during her service with Burleigh County.

Kathleen was a dedicated mother who loved her children, grand children and close friends. Kathy also loved reading, gardening, fashion, and all of her pets.

Kathleen is survived by her children, Clifton, Jesse, and Hannah; her former husband, Douglas White; her siblings, Clifton, Keith, Alan, Karen, and Randy; as well as her grandchildren, Darian, Jacob, and Lilly Belle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Clifford Nelson; her husband, Jacob Puma; and her son, David Puma. 

Kathleen will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her.
