He went to grade school in Menoken, graduated from Bismarck High School in 1952 and then went to NDSU where he was a member of the Tau Kappa Sigma fraternity. On June 27, 1964, he married Virginia Ibach. They made their home in Menoken, ND, where he ranched until his death. Keith loved to spend time with his family. His two boys Dean and Scott were the pride of his life. He was a dad that always showed respect to his boys, but when they needed a bit of motivation or advice he was always there to either offer an ear or express his opinion. He always made sure Dean was working hard selling his newest product and Scott was planting the right crops at the right time. He loved to drive around the road and look at the crops, tinker on his tractors or whatever he could get his hands on. He loved seeing the young cattle and going to the sales barns. During the last few months he wasn’t able to go watch them, so he would watch the cattle sales on his computer. He called his ranch Dusty Roads Simmentals! Keith loved his grandchildren all equally. He loved attending their basketball games and most of all listening to their stories about school. He was always there for them to lend an ear or giving a ride. If they ever needed to know anything about history or government they knew they could call him and he would probably know the answer. Education was very important to him. He loved to spoil his girls. Keith worked many years selling seed corn for various companies like Jacques and Dahlgrens. In his later years he worked at the Amvets Club and the Bismarck Event Center in Bismarck. He was a people person and enjoyed seeing all his neighborhood friends and family. Keith was a very dedicated to his country. He served in the US Army in 1961-1962 and Honor Grad Crane & Shovel School, Marksmen M-1, Rifle Sharp Shooter M-1 Carbine. He served as President of Menoken School Board. President of Burleigh County School Board Association. President of Burleigh County Multi-District Special Education. Board President of Bismarck Burleigh County Planning Commission, President of Burleigh County Farm Bureau. Served on the Legislative committees of North Dakota Farm Bureau. Served on Blue Ribbon Finance Committee for the North Dakota Farm Bureau. He took part in several Memorial Day Services and took part in the display set up to honor Vietnam Vets. He served as 2nd Vice President Commander 2011-2012, Commander 2012-2014, Commander of the Year 2014-2015.
