Ken Glass

Kenneth Michael Glass of Mandan, ND passed away on May 29, 2019 at the age of 69.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 806 E. Broadway Ave, Bismarck, ND. Cards may be sent to Eastgate Funeral Home, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck ND 58501.

Ken was born on May 24, 1950 to Michael and Mary (Lipp) Glass in Menoken North Dakota. He was the second to youngest of nine children. He spent his childhood in Bismarck and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1968. Ken married Janelle Swanson on November 7, 1975 and together they had three children. Ken was a jack of all trades. An electrician by trade, he built a house for his family doing everything himself but the plumbing, could fix almost any car until they became too computerized and could outlast anyone’s patience on any project. He also did bridge straightening work with a local company that took him all over the country and even across the globe to Kuwait. He retired a number of years ago, but never stopped working on little projects and could always be found tinkering on an engine or building something.

Ken is survived by three siblings, Luella Swoboda, Dottie (Jerry) Horner and Butch (Nancy) Glass; his three children, Sarah (Luke) Fraley, Jeremiah (Ilka) Glass, Emily (Nathan) Cote, and twelve grandchildren, Mariya, McKenzie, Eben, Lilly, Kaden, Isabella, Ireland, Grayson, Quinn, Elara, Vera and Eden.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary Glass and five brothers, Abe, Marvin, Gene, Joe and Ray.
