Keven is the beloved son of Leo and Catherine Stockert and was born and raised in the Bismarck, North Dakota area.
On May 19, 1989 he married Audra Greff where they remained together for nineteen years, later parted ways, but remained close forever. In Keven’s words - she was his “soul-mate.”
He attended Century High School where he acquired his love of wrestling where he earned many ribbons and trophies. For the majority of his employment, he worked for Aaction Movers as the Operations Manager and later on began his own construction company which he operated until his death.
Keven loved sports, and was a proud die hard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. His favoritism obvious in the memorabilia he collected: jerseys, blankets, keys, coasters, hats, etc.
Many people met and remembered Keven through his love of racing. He was so proud of his #12 Mopar race car and his accomplishments as a Stockcar driver and later an IMCA Modified driver at the Bismarck and Dacotah Speedway, where he once again earned many trophies. Although his love of racing never stopped, a back injury prevented him from continuing on.
Through this injury, began a long, hard and dark period of Keven’s life, leading to addiction. He was not afraid to tell anyone of his affliction as it led him to a better place of recovery, sobriety, and a long, long list of people who he was determined to help with the same issues. Through a renewed love of God, he became a NA sponsor, a friend, and a defender to many and a strong advocate for “cleaning up” his neighborhood, which led to his final breath protecting his friend, Michaela. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by those who became dependent on his strong words of encouragement and consistent friendship. He would literally give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.
Keven loved his family immensely. He was known by his family and friends as a loving, giving, soft-hearted, and kind person, who gave everything of himself to those he loved and cared about. He was known to be a little unpolished on the outside, but his heart spoke differently.
No words can express how sad we are that his life was taken so wrongly, nor how bad he will be missed.
Keven is survived by six brothers and six sisters: Donna Vetter, Bismarck; Lawrence Stockert, Bismarck; Linda (Wayne) Adams, Reynolds, ND; Gary (RaeDean) Stockert, Bloomington, MN; Patty (Bruce) Deviney, O’Fallon, MO; Sandy (Rodger) Erickson, McKenzie, ND; Mike (Theresa) Stockert, Bismarck; Paul (Crystal) Stockert, Mandan; Jeff Stockert, Mandan; Brenda (Donnie) Wald, Bismarck; Brian (Stacy) Stockert, Bismarck; and Jeanine (Tim) Verasca, Bismarck; 30 nieces and nephews, 51 great nieces and nephews and 14 great-great nieces and nephews.
