LaDonna Marie Hilsendeger, 80, Bismarck, went with her angels to be with our Lord on January 21, 2020 after a long battle with COPD. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy.
LaDonna was born in Wilton, ND, to Henry and Leona (Bucholtz) Anderson on August 15, 1939.
She married Leonard Hilsendeger on September 24, 1960. They were married 17 years and together had Lenny, Lisa, and Marcy.
LaDonna used to work at the creamery with Yegan Dairy and we heard she made the best hamburgers and malts at the bowling alley. LaDonna also worked as a security guard at the Bismarck Airport. She enjoyed sneaking her children onto planes while they were being cleaned and giving them peanuts. LaDonna waitressed at Tops Café in Sterling while she lived in Driscoll before moving to Bismarck to waitress nights at the Drumstick Café for over 20 years. After the Drumstick closed its doors, she retired and went into cleaning homes with her good friend, Alice Hulm.
She enjoyed going to Prairie Knights Casino and playing pull tabs at the local pub. When she would watch football, basketball, and playing darts, she would always call to let us know who was playing and what the score was. What LaDonna enjoyed the most was spending time with her grandchildren and attempting to spoil them rotten. She also made a great attempt to eat as much chocolate as possible.
LaDonna is survived by her sons, Marlin Anderson and Lenny (Angie) Hilsendeger; daughters, Lisa (Damian) Bean and Marcy (Kelly) Morris; grandchildren, Brody and Devon Hilsendeger, Jessie and Jamie Bean, and Samantha, Zack, and April Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Leona; siblings, Wesley, Marty, Leon, Darline, and Norma.
