Laquita “Quita” Boston-Minton, was born and raised in Memphis TN. In her early years, she enjoyed being a handful for her parents, while bothering her older brother Maurice. She received her loving and giving spirit from her mother Cynthia while being a daddy's girl for Cliff. Quita enjoyed being around her family, especially her cousins, nieces, and nephews. She has always had a motherly nature and cared for everyone. Becoming a devoted babysitter to all of her younger family members, spoiling them whenever she could.
In her teenage years, she acquired many friends and valued their friendships. Unbeknownst to her, Quita also started a great friendship with her future husband Richard. In addition, there was no such thing as a “stranger” to her, as she would help anyone she could. Constantly donating whatever she had to help others.
In her adult life, Laquita received her medical assistant degree and studied criminal justice. She loved traveling the country, visiting almost 20 states. Quita was delighted by going on a road trip for scenic views. She knew everything about the military and wanted to serve her country proudly. She also enjoyed real estate and was so knowledgeable she could be your interior decorator and financial advisor.
In all, Laquita enjoyed being a mother and wife the most. She loved her husband Richard and she was the best mother to her loving, rambunctious sons Jamal and Jeremiah. They were inseparable! She did whatever it took to make sure her boys were well taken care of and made sure she was well prepared for baby Mackenzie. Although sweet Mackenzie was only here for precious moments, she has filled our hearts with love.
Laquita and Mackenzie will join their Uncle George and other family members in heaven. They are survived by Richard Minton (husband & father), Jamal Cooper and Jeremiah Minton (sons & brothers), Cynthia and Leroy Roby (mother, stepfather, & grandparents), Clifton Boston Jr (father & grandfather), Maurice Boston (brother & uncle), Kia Wooten (lifelong friend), Harold and Debbie Minton (in-laws & grandparents), John and Kathryn Holderman (in-laws & grandparents), John Minton (brother-in-law & uncle), Bethany Minton (sister-in-law, & aunt), Clifton Johnson (brother & uncle), Latisha Burrell (sister & aunt), Michal Hudson (brother & uncle), Antonio Durham (brother & uncle), Eric Frazier (Godbrother), Jeremy Mack (Godbrother), and Porsha Williams (Godsister) and many others.
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid.” -John 14:27
