Larry McCormick

Larry McCormick, 66, passed away on October 21, 2023.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, Oct. 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 N 4th St, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, Oct. 29, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. A prayer service will begin at 3:00 PM.

Larry R. McCormick, 66, Sterling, formerly of Wing and Menoken, passed away on October 21, 2023, peacefully surrounded by his family. 

Larry was born April 17, 1957 to Virgil and Amelia (Millet) McCormick, while they lived in Menoken, ND.  He graduated in 1976 from St. Mary’s High School in Bismarck.  He was retired after a successful career with the Burleigh County Highway Department. 

He married the love of his lifetime, Barb McCormick, in 1981. Together they raised four children.  He lived in Burleigh County his whole life. 

He loved to bowl, hunt, fish and compete in archery tournaments.  Some of his hunting highlights were his bear, buffalo and elk hunts with family and friends.   He ran an archery league and especially enjoyed competing in archery tournaments in both the US and Canada with two robin hoods and multiple trophies to his credit.

Larry is survived by his wife, Barb (Engdahl) McCormick, Sterling; his children, Sara (Scott) Markel, Bismarck; David McCormick, Bismarck; Shanon McCormick, Lincoln; Candi (Zach) Finley, Bismarck; nine grandchildren, Eric, Saden, Sam (Erica), Jack, Grace, Joseph, Greyson, Ainsley, and Charlie Mabel; brother, Bill McCormick, Crook, CO; sisters, Marilou (Allan) Voegele, Menoken, Jody (Jim) Tuchscherer, Rugby, and Carol (Kurt) Hagel, West Fargo; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Mille McCormick; sister, DeeDee Kirkpatrick; and brothers, Timothy, Frances & Bryan McCormick.
