Larry Schmidt

Larry Schmidt, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2023, at the age of 73.

Born on April 20, 1950, in Bismarck, North Dakota, Larry was the son of Anton and Anna (Neigum) Schmidt.

At the age of 12, Larry's family relocated to Washington, where he would spend the rest of his life. He graduated from high school in Washington and it was there that he met Kathleen, his beloved wife. Sharing North Dakota roots, Larry and Kathleen exchanged vows on July 3, 1971, beginning a beautiful journey together.

Larry was a man of many talents and pursuits, but it was as a truck driver that he found his true calling. With dedication and commitment, he served in the industry for over 25 years, retiring in 2016. Throughout his life, Larry had a deep affection for vehicles, particularly classic cars. He took great pride in his burnt orange 1934 Ford hot rod and enjoyed attending car shows and races, as well as watching them on TV.

Larry's memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Kathleen, and their son, Anthony (Christi) Schmidt of Seattle, Washington. He was also the adoring grandfather of his grandson, Korbin Schmidt, residing in Eugene, Oregon. Larry is survived by his five sisters and their spouses, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.

Larry was preceded in death by his son, Justin, and his parents, Anton and Anna Schmidt.

Funeral services and ceremonies celebrating Larry's life will be held on a date to be announced at a later time. His family invites all those who knew him to come together and honor his memory. In accordance with Larry's wishes, his earthly remains will be cremated.
