Laurie Baumgartner

Laurie Baumgartner, 55, Bismarck passed away on July 14, 2024.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 19 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. A lunch and time of fellowship will be held following the service at the Schaumberg Arena, 1504 Wichita Dr., Bismarck. 

Interment will be at 3:30PM on Friday July 19 at Moffit Community Cemetery, Moffit, North Dakota. 

Laurie was born on January 13, 1969, to Patrick “Pat” and Sharon (Renz) Carroll. Growing up in Moffit and graduating from Hazelton High School in 1987. Laurie embraced her rural roots before moving to Bismarck for her education and career pursuits. Throughout her life, Laurie exemplified dedication and hard work, graduating from the University of Mary with a degree in business and establishing a successful career at Farmers Union Insurance, where she spent over three decades. On May 9, 1998, Laurie married the love of her life, John Baumgartner, with whom she shared many joyous moments. Laurie found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life—shopping for clothes and shoes, spending time on the river, and relishing sunny mornings with a cup of coffee on the deck. Her passion for outdoor activities, camping, and Arizona's warm weather illuminated her vibrant spirit. She was deeply involved in her three girls' activities and sports, always cheering them on with unwavering support. Laurie adored her role as a grandmother, delighting in spoiling her grandchild, Braxton, with treats and creating lasting memories together. Her love and generosity knew no bounds, and she touched the lives of all who knew her.

She will be missed by her husband of 26 years, John; daughters, Brittany (Andrew) Hilgemann and their son Braxton, all of Lincoln, Mercedes Baumgartner, Grand Forks, ND and Anna Baumgartner, Bismarck; parents, Pat and Sharon Carroll, Moffit; brother, Shane (Claudette) Carroll, Moffit; brother in law, Bill (Danielle) Baumgartner, Mandan and Regina (Mark) Krush, Orlando FL and nephews, James (Mallorie) Carroll and their children, Emmet and Wrenna, Jace (Samera) Carroll, Kristoffer, Nikkolas and Alekxander Krush. 

She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Donna Baumgartner and her grandparents, including Maternal grandmother, Bertha Renz.
