Leigh Ann Huether

Leigh Ann Huether, Bismarck, passed away on Oct. 27, 2020. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck.  A service livestream will be available on the funeral home’s website at the time of the service.

Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck.

She was born on December 31, 1958 in Elgin.

Leigh grew up in Regent and graduated from Regent High School in 1977. She attended Dickinson State University and graduated in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in English/Journalism. After graduation, she moved to Bismarck where she lived until the time of her death. She spent several years working at Easter Seals before transitioning to a 20+ year career as a Research Analyst at the State of North Dakota Commerce Department.

In her spare time, Leigh enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, shopping on QVC and especially playing with her long-time companion Bichon Friese, Joey.

Leigh is survived by her sister, Jodean Marie Ruud; two nieces, McKenzie Justine Ruud and Jaden Madison Ruud; sister-in-law, Nancy Mae Huether; two nephews, Christopher William (Melissa) Huether, and their daughter, Olivia, and Joshua Matthew (Lindsay) Huether and their three daughters, Coralyn, Juliette and Freya.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William George Huether and Patricia Mae (Yates) Huether; brother, William J. Huether; and sister, Susan J. Huether.
