Leonard Stettner

Leonard M. Stettner, 89, of Mandan, formerly of Ross, North Dakota, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, surrounded by his family. 

 A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. 

Leonard was born in Inver Grove Heights, south of Saint Paul, Minnesota, to the late Martin and Augusta Stettner. Leonard married Marie Helke in 1959 in St. Paul, Missouri, and Synod in Stanley, North Dakota. He farmed in Ross, North Dakota, where they raised their family. Leonard farmed until 1976. He started a new career in residential construction until his retirement.

Leonard enjoyed black powder guns, square dancing, and working with the Mountrail County Soil Conservation by planting trees.

Leonard is survived by his children, Amber (Chip) Stroschein, Shawn Stettner, and Martin (Mica) Stettner; grandchildren, Ashley Stettner, Christopher (Courtney) Strochein, Hanna Stettner, and Isaiah Stettner; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Logan Stettner and Mya Nelson; great-great-granddaughter, Amor'a Washington; and one sister Marcia (George Ed) Hoffman. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie and three siblings, George, Delores, and Charles.
