Lester Stull

     On January 22, 1926, a young mother, pregnant with her second child, passes away.  The doctors successfully remove the baby boy from her womb.   So begins the life of Lester Stull.

     A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 23, at Cornerstone Community Church, 111 E Wachter Ave, Bismarck.

     Burial will be held at the Glencoe Cemetery, Emmons County.

    Lester was born to Harvey William and Leora Belle (Slater) Stull in Cummings, North Dakota.  He was raised on a farm south of Menoken, North Dakota by his father, along with his aunt and uncle, John and Anna (Slater) Welch. 

    After attending rural schools he moved to Bismarck, where he worked numerous jobs, including at the Bismarck Airport, Ack’s Radiator Shop, and Ed’s Body Shop, to name just a few.

    Lester married Oren Esther Bidwell on September 25, 1949, in Bismarck.  For many years they worked as a custodial team for Bismarck Public Schools.  They were longtime members of Cornerstone Community Church in Bismarck. 

    Lester is survived by daughters Leora (David) Gilbert, Pamela (Richard) Anderson, Janet (Clyde) Bauman, and Sandra Nygaard; grandchildren Russell Galvin, David Gilbert, Tammy Mancha, April Jenkins, Richard and Christopher Anderson, Richard and Robert Novy, Sarah Ackerman, Brook Spotts, and Steven, Justin, and Chastity Nygaard; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; many, many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Oren; his brother, Lynn Stull; son-in-law Doyle Nygaard; and several brothers-in-aw and sisters-in-law.

   He will be deeply missed by his family and his many beloved friends at Cornerstone. 

   The family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, where Lester resided the final seventeen months of his life, and to the Hospice team at CHI/Essentia Health.  Their love and devotion will not be forgotten.
