Lila L. Krueger

Lila L. Krueger, 72, Bismarck, died April 9, 2018, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3rd Street and Avenue A., Bismarck, with Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Lila Louise was born May 28, 1945, at St. Paul Park, MN, the daughter of Bill and Irene Hassinger. She grew up and attended school in St.Paul Park and graduated from Park High School. Following school, she was employed for several years with UNIVACK. In 1971 she moved to Bismarck. On July 19, 1974, she married Charles “Chuck” Krueger in Fredonia, ND. The couple made their home in Bismarck, and Lila was employed with the Salvation Army. Lila enjoyed collecting Royal Copley pottery and porcelain, reading, and flower gardening. At Trinity Lutheran Church, Lila was a longtime member of the altar guild and assisted for many years with the youth rummage sales. For the past 18 winters, Lila and Chuck would spend their winters in Rockport, TX, where she enjoyed walking the beach and collecting sea shells. Lila is survived by her husband of 44 years, Chuck, Bismarck; sister, Gerry Schroeder, Brooklyn Park, MN; brothers, Dick (Barb) Hassinger, Mill Valley, CA, Steve (Laura) Hassinger, West St. Paul, MN; special niece and nephews, Ellen Schroeder, Seattle, WA, Dan Schroeder and Mike (Katina) Schroeder, both of Twin Cities, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edwin and Bertha Krueger; and brother-in-law, Bob Schroeder. The family would like to express a special thank you to all the doctors and nurses for the kindness and great care Lila received during her stay at Sanford Health ICU. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church Trust Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
