Lillian Gladys Wick was born August 14, 1923, to Gilbert and Julia (Toso) Wick on a farm south of Robinson, North Dakota. She was their ninth child joining six brothers and two sisters. Three more brothers would follow.

She was educated in Robinson graduating in 1941. She attended a summer quarter at NDSU in Fargo, ND receiving her teaching certificate. She taught rural schools in Kidder County until her marriage. Theobald (Theo) Gunsch and Lillian Wick were married at Bethany Lutheran Church in Robinson May 30, 1948. Their early years were spent in Dawson, Medina and Spiritwood. Together they operated the Café in Robinson from 1953 until a final move to Jamestown in 1955. They were blessed with four children, Susan, Vicki, Charlene, and Michael. She served as President of the PTA and was a Girl Scout leader. She is a Lifetime Member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a Life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She returned to work as a bookkeeper in 1977, first for Immanuel Lutheran Church, then the Jamestown Farmer’s Elevator and finally for Rick’s TV where she worked until retiring in 2007 at age 83.

Following Theo’s death in 2006 at almost 60 years of marriage, she sold the family home and moved into a senior living apartment then to Heritage Center Assisted Living in Jamestown. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards with girlfriends, bingo and watching the Minnesota Twins and Timberwolves. She enjoyed the casino trips she shared with a close and dear friend, Earl Redmann. In August 2021 she moved into the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center assisted living in Bismarck to be close to her family. She then resided the last few months at the Missouri Slope nursing home until her death.

We will remember her for her love of family, strong Christian faith, eternal optimism, warm hugs, exceptional memory of family members, birthdays and weddings, homemade apple butter, Norwegian lefse, turkey soup and the pride she had in always looking her best. She was a special person who if you knew her, could make a difference in your life, as she did ours.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Charlene; husband, Theo; eleven brothers and sisters; and daughter-in-law, Vickie Trautman Gunsch.

Survivors are daughters, Susan Richter (Rodney), Vicki Livesay (Richard) and son Michael Gunsch; seven grandchildren, Jenna Mickelson (Chad Hopman), Travis Livesay (Lisa), Jessica Livesay, Heidi Richter (Harrison Hall), Kevin Livesay, Sam Richter (Stephanie), and Christi Gunsch; seven great-grandchildren, Brina Charvat, Kyle, Emily, Grayson and Reid Livesay, and Sage and Sawyer Richter, sister-in-law, Luella Semmens, and many nieces and nephews. She shared special relationships with Rick McBeain and Shelly Gunsch Kraft.

Always in our hearts, loving and treasured memories forever.
