Lois (Mosser) Baumgartner, 89, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024 at Missouri Slope Nursing Home in Bismarck, ND.
Her life and death will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Pro-Cathedral of St. Mary, 825 E Broadway Ave, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a rosary/vigil service starting at 7:00PM, Wednesday, January 17th at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Visitation will continue an hour before Mass.
Interment will be held at 2:00 PM at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery in Mandan where she will be laid to eternal rest along with her husband, Victor Baumgartner.
Lois was born on December 7th, 1934 and grew up in Hague and graduated from Hague High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Vic. After High School, she taught grades 1-8 in a small one room school house south of Hague before marrying Vic on February 3, 1953 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hague. In 1958, Lois and Vic along with their children moved to Braddock where they started Baumgartner Oil & Trucking Company. They retired in 2003 and later moved to Bismarck where they both resided until they passed.
Lois is survived by her two sons, Steve (Sandra) ‘Humann’ Baumgartner, Bismarck, Dean (Seanna) ‘Ramsey’ Baumgartner, Dallas, TX; three daughters, Nancy (Steve) Kane, Brooklyn Park, MN, Pam (Ken) Danforth, Ft. Collins, CO, and Heidi (Andrew) Holloway, Loveland, CO.; daughter-in-law, Sandra ‘Jangula’ Baumgartner, Braddock; son-in-law, Terry Howe, Bismarck, two sisters, Carol Fettig, Bismarck and Rachel (Mark) Stroda, Yellowtail, Mt; four brothers, Russel (Linda) Perkins, Payton, CO, Dennis Bollinger, West Fargo, Gary (Sharon) Bollinger, Cold Springs, MN and four sisters-in-law, Delores Hennesy, New York, NY, Lenora Muehler, Bismarck, DeLylia Baumgartner, Bismarck and Alvina Baumgartner, Aberdeen, SD. Lois loved and adored her 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, David Baumgartner; daughter, Jeanette Howe, granddaughter, Robyn 'Baumgartner' Jangula and many more loved ones that we know greeted her in Heaven.
Lois will be cherished by her family and friends for her great sense of humor, her wonderful laugh and beautiful smile.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Juvenile Diabetes Associaton.
