Loralei Klitzke

Loralei Klitzke, 68, Bismarck, formerly of Minot and Lignite/Portal area, died Sunday, May 31, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Evangel, 3225 N 14th St,
Bismarck.

Burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Lignite Cemetery.

Loralei Ann was born April 10, 1952 to Andrew and Shirley (Fenster) Young, in Crosby, ND. She was raised and educated in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School.  Loralei continued her education, graduating with an Associates Degree from Williston State College. 

On October 2, 1971, she married Rodney Klitzke in Columbus.  They lived in Flaxton and later Lignite, before moving to the farm between Lignite and Portal.  In 1996, Rodney passed away.  Loralei stayed on the farm until 2001 when she moved to Minot.  She was able to work from home for Choice Hotels and continued doing that for a time when she moved to Bismarck to be closer to family.

Loralei was called by God to be a mom, not just to her own children, but those she adopted and fostered throughout the years. She was recognized for her life service by receiving an award.

While living in Lignite, she was active in the churches, where she taught Sunday School for several years.  While living in Minot she was a member of the Assembly of God Church and while living in Bismarck a member of Evangel. 

She is survived by her children and their families, Alan (Melissa) Klitzke and Levi (Jordyne), Logan and Larissa; Cory (Brenda) Klitzke and Caitlin Adams, Cassandra and Chase Klitzke; Stacey (Brian) McIntosh and Rylee and Bridger; Heidy Chrest and Collin; Shane (Audra) Klitzke and Jonathan, Shayna, Brooklyn and Noah; Amber (Cody) Brodal; Ramon Klitzke; Marina Weltikol and Braden; Maritza Klitzke and Allanah Davis, Cinnamon, Pharaoh, and Caesar Jacobs; Steven (girlfriend, Ashley) Klitzke and Jaxen; Joseph (girlfriend, Kathy) Klitzke and Marcellus; Faith (fiancé, Joey) Klitzke; and Jabriel Klitzke; great-grandchildren, Avery Klitzke and Jemma Adams; sister-in-law, Annis Young; and best friend, Terri Arnold.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney; daughter, Brianna; brother, Don Young; and her parents, Andrew and Shirley Young.
