Loren Edward Gobbs, 59, died at his home on January 23, 2018, and is now at peace. Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 1, at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1004 E. Highland Acres Rd., Bismarck, with Rev. Lisa Ahlness officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 31, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck. Visitation will continue on Friday, February 2, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm MST at Trinity Lutheran Church in Culbertson, MT. Burial will be held at 10:00 am MST Saturday, February 3, at Rock Springs Cemetery, Reserve, MT. Loren was born April 24, 1958, in Culbertson, MT, to Howard and Mabel Gobbs. He graduated Culbertson High School in 1976. Loren attended and graduated from Montana State University in 1980 with a degree in agriculture. After graduation Loren moved to Pennsylvania and started working for Sperry New Holland. Loren remained with the company through several different transitions, retiring in 2017. On July 3, 1982, he married his true love Louise Lossing in Plentywood, MT. They lived in Huron, SD, until 1984 then relocated to Bismarck, ND, where their family was raised. Loren was a courageous father. He always made time for a friend or loved one in need. Loren enjoyed being an outdoorsman, avid hunter, and involved with agriculture. Loren was active and enjoyed his children’s activities, bowled on a league, as well as getting together with the guys for a poker night. Loren is survived by his children, Ryan (Tanya), Glendive, MT, and Cody (Melissa) Gwinn, MI; three granddaughters, Shelby, Kendel, and Rylee Jo Gobbs; sister, Ardis (Gordon) Oelkers, Culbertson, MT; two brothers, Bobby (Barbara) Gobbs, Jacksonville, FL, and Lonnie (Deena) Gobbs, Townsend, MT; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Gobbs; mother, Mabel Gobbs; and wife, Louise (Lossing) Gobbs.
