Lorraine Hilzendeger, 67, Bismarck, died Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 10:00 AM, at Church of St. Anne, 1321 Braman Ave, Bismarck with Rev. Wayne Sattler officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck. A rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 PM.
Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 29, at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Lorraine was born on October 13, 1952 to Kasmier and Ann Wald of rural McIntosh county. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Wishek and graduated in 1970. She married Tom Hilzendeger on June 10, 1972 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. They moved to Bismarck and had two children, Brian and Rebecca. Lorraine worked as a receptionist for both Deluxe Cleaners and the Bone and Joint Center. She retired from the Bone and Joint Center in 2017 due to her illness.
Lorraine loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid dancer and card player. She enjoyed spending her summers at the family cabin on Green Lake.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Tom; her son Brian (Dawn) Hilzendeger, Bismarck; daughter Becky (Mark) Schnabel, Wishek; grandchildren Raegan Hilzendeger, Emma and Emmett Schnabel; mother Ann Wald; brothers Larry Wald and Donnie (Brenda) Wald; sisters Bernice Vetter and Addie (Bill) Lea; brother-in-law- Andy (Barb) Hilzendeger; and sister-in-law Sally Johs.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her father Kasmier; brothers-in-law Tony Vetter, Adam Johs and Steve Hilzendeger; sister-in-law Linda Wald; her mother and father-in-law Nick and Regina Hilzendeger; and nephew, Gerry Hilzendeger.
