November 11, 1925 — May 21, 2019

The family of Lorrece Helen Werner, 93, announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother, as we are comforted in knowing the joy of Heaven upon her arrival. She passed over at 11:43 am, Tuesday, May 21, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at Augusta Place in Bismarck, ND.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am Friday, May 24, at Parkway Funeral Service, 230 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck with Revs. Jim and Jan McEachran officiating. Burial is at 12:00 noon Friday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday, May 23, at Parkway Funeral Service where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm.

Lorrece was born November 11, 1925 in Bismarck, ND, to Pius and Margaret (Ereth) Usselman. Lorrece graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Bismarck. Her employment history included working at her father’s general store in Fort Rice for many years, being a telegraph operator/station agent for the Northern Pacific Railroad at the Jamestown Depot during WWII, clerk at Country General for ten years, secretary/accountant, Avon representative, and her primary job, raising six children. Lorrece also loved to sew and quilt (Capital Quilters), tend her garden, can home goods, and participate in church worship and fellowship events at Bethel Assembly in Mandan, ND.

After marrying Andrew M. Werner on January 15, 1945, in Fort Rice, ND, she went to Portland, OR, for four years where Richard (Karen) and Karen Werner (Jim Rivinius) were born, returned to North Dakota and had four more children, Robert “Curly” Werner (Gisela Butler-Dost), Andrew “Andy Mark” Werner, LuAnne “Lu” Johnson (Ted), and David Werner (Andrea). All six of her children survive her, as well as her brother, Fred Usselman; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt), Scott (Emily), Pius, Jonathan, Alex (Lisa), Alana (Tim), Jessica (Mike), Matt (Rachel), Kari Jo (Gabe), Katie Elizabeth (Tim), Katie Marie, Nikki (Polly), Joshua, Lindsey, and Allison; great-grandchildren, Dayton, Brayden, Mackenzie, Evan, Aiden, Addy, Beckett, Luca, Riley, Hadley, Brynn, Petey, Joey, Mckynzie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Andy” Martin Werner; a grandson, Craig Werner; son-in-law, Tom Gleich (LuAnne); daughter-in-law, Michi Werner (Robert), and two sisters-in-law, Myrtle Usselman (Fred), and Helen Usselman (Bernie); her parents; three sisters, Zita Chase (Bob), Flora Boisjolie (Francis “Bud”), Yolanda “Nona Mae” Woods (Bud); and her brother, Bernard “Bernie” Usselman (Helen).

The family wishes to thank the Augusta Place for their friendship and love to our mom.
