The most important thing is Lyle's life was his family. The "jewels" in his crown as he stated were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His face was glowing whenever they were around. He also loved to fish and sit by the campfire.
He spent many weekends with Annette and her family at Douglas Bay enjoying the fishing, scenery and visiting with his extended lake family. Lyle loved the birthday parties and celebrations that he was able to attend for his family in Bismarck and Tuttle. He loved his yearly trips to Arizona to spend time with his family there also. He was very proud of his family and didn't hesitate to tell them all so.
