Marcella Volk-Streifel

Marcella Volk-Streifel, of Bismarck, formerly of Strasburg, passed away on January 13, 2025.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on 11:00 AM, Saturday, Jan. 18, at Church of St. Anne, 1321 Braman Ave, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 PM, Friday, Jan. 17, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck. A rosary/vigil will begin at 7:00 PM.

Burial will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Strasburg. 

Marcella was born in Napoleon on March 26th 1929 to Anton Wald and Magdalena (Bosch) Wald. She married Mike A. Volk of Strasburg on October 5, 1948. In their marriage they raised seven children. She worked many years in Strasburg at the Blue Room, Strasburg Care Center, Strasburg Public School and Linton Blumen Haus. 

They moved to Bismarck in 1995 where Marcella worked at Botanical Silk. Mike passed away in 1998 and in September of 2000 she married Francis Streifel, they were married for 18 years. 

Marcella was very active and creative mother and stayed involved in many arts and crafts. She was a lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary, St. Mary's Society, Homemakers Club, Germans from Russia and with her strong faith, made many rosaries for missionaries and churches. 

She is survived by her children, Leroy (Mariann) Volk, Marie (Darris) Job, Jerome “Tank” Volk, Gerard “Whitey” (Renee) Volk, Willie (Arlene) Volk, Theresia (Les) Haugen, Anthony Volk (Jeff), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marcella was preceded in death by her first husband, Mike Volk, second husband, Francis Streifel, her parents, five brothers; one sister, grandchild, Jared and two great-grandchildren.
