Marcia Stiefel, 71, Mandan, died May 4, 2018, at Sunset Drive-A Prospera Community, Mandan. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am Tuesday, May 8, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. A gathering time will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday, May 7, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. Marcia Stiefel (Boyer) was born October 2, 1946, to Floyd and Shirley Boyer. She grew up in the Mayville, ND, where she met and married Brad Thrall. Brad and Marcia had two sons together, Cory (1973) and Dan (1975). On October 24, 1981, Marcia married John Stiefel. Marcia worked at United Bank for many years, until a merger with another bank closed the location she worked at. She then worked at Mid-Western Realestate until her retirement. Marcia enjoyed shopping. She was always up for a stop at her favorite store, TJ Maxx! Marcia enjoyed being a grandma, forming a close and loving relationship with Maya (Dan). Marcia enjoyed going on adventures with friends and family. Adventures as close as the casino for a concert to flights to Hawaii for Dan and Cathy’s wedding. She also had an eye for fashion and decorating, earning the title “Marcia Stewart.” Her home showcased the latest in design and taste. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, and eating at Red Lobster. Marcia also enjoyed water aerobics at the YMCA and was a water aerobics instructor for several years. Later in life Marcia cultivated a deep and meaningful relationship with Harold Karch. Together they traveled on the oceans and traveled to mountain peaks. This special love endured the test of cancer, as Harold would visit Marcia daily while a resident at Sunset Drive, Mandan. Marcia is survived by sons, Cory (Becky) Thrall, of Washburn, ND, and Dan (Cathy) Thrall, of Northglenn CO; and one granddaughter, Maya Thrall, of Bismarck ND. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sheila; and husband John. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Bismarck Cancer Center or Sanford Hospice.
