Maretta was born on March 29, 2021 to proud parents, Seth and Abby Ebach. Big brother Adam was thrilled to have a baby sister to play with and take care of. From day one, Maretta was the absolute personification of joy. She never went anywhere without a smile and a pair of sunglasses, and left a trail of people smiling behind her. Maretta brought immense happiness into the lives of all who knew and loved her.
Maretta Fay was the perfect mixture of sugar and spice. She was kind and silly, and loved to play games, blow bubbles, and take care of her baby dolls. Every day you could find her dancing and singing Disney songs alongside her brother. Ever the helper, Maretta was constantly finding ways to be silly while shoveling or cleaning or getting her friends a new toy. Maretta was clever and always looking for a chance to ride her scooter to the swings at the playground. Maretta loved to move—gymnastics, swimming, running, and climbing kept her in a constant state of motion. And, as an accessory queen, she was never without a headband and something sparkly.
As we celebrate Maretta, we remember that she was fierce and vivacious and so full of life. She took every day as a challenge to have more fun and try something new. With sparkly green fingernails and a bounce in her step, Maretta’s energy and love were contagious. She brightened the lives of every single person she met.
Maretta’s life will be forever remembered and cherished by all who survive her, including her parents, Abby and Seth; big brother, Adam; maternal grandparents, Fay and Cal Kopp; paternal grandparents, Connie Ebach and Nick Ebach; maternal great grandmother Sharon Kronebusch, aunties and uncles, Paul Ebach, Katie Keller, Tom and Kelly Kopp, Chris and Britta Kopp; cousins, Brock Keller, Porter Kopp, Briggs Kopp, Maris Kopp, Arthur Kopp, and Gwendolyn Kopp; and extended family and friends.
More than anything, Maretta was excited to start preschool "after summer." Donations in her name can be made to Missouri Valley Montessori.
