Margaret Guthmiller

Margaret Guthmiller, 94, Bismarck, formerly of Pettibone, ND, died October 3, 2018, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, October 8, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Pettibone, with Rev. Jacob DeBoer officiating. Burial will be at the Petersville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Sunday, October 7, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck. Margaret was born January 21, 1924, to John and Katherine Pleines in Petersville Township, ND. She attended school through the eighth grade in Rexine Township. Margaret married Sam Guthmiller on August 18, 1948, in Steele, ND, and the couple moved to Sam’s homeplace northwest of Pettibone. On July 27, 1962, their daughter, Rennetta, was born and the family lived on the farm until the spring of 1978.  Sam passed away in January of 1978. In 2001, Margaret moved to Steele to be closer to her daughter and family. In 2011, she moved with her daughter son-in-law, and grandsons to Bismarck, and was fortunate to spend every day life with them. Margaret enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her daughter, Rennetta (Larry) Albrecht; three grandsons, Michael, Joshua, and Justin; one brother, Clarence (Phyllis) Pleines; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam; brothers, Joe (Rose) Pleines, Arnold Pleines, and infant Reinhold; her sister, Eldora (Chris) Reuther; and great-nephew, Brian Thompson.
