Marilyn R. Berger, 83, Bismarck, rose to meet the heavenly angels while in care at the Missouri Slope Care Center on March 8, 2020, after a long struggle with dementia. A private family service will be held.
Marilyn was born February 1, 1937 in Jamestown to John and Cecelia Woychik. She grew up and attended school in Jamestown. Growing up, Marilyn and her twin sister Marlys had a life filled with music as they sang for many occasions. After graduating from high school, she went on to get her RN degree, it was then she realized her passion was to become a nurse anesthetist and went on to become one of the best CRNAs! She thoroughly enjoyed administering anesthesia and took great pride in her work. Marilyn married Robert “Bob” Berger in 1962 and together they had one son Marc who was the pride and joy of her life! Marilyn also loved dogs and had many “furbabies” throughout the years. Marilyn was an amazing grandmother. She was there to support her grandchildren in everything they did.
Marilyn had many talents – baking, decorating, elegant handwriting, beautiful cross stitching, and was a fabulous cook. She enjoyed holiday get-togethers with the family. Marilyn was a perfectionist in everything she did. She was a collector of many things but loved her bear collection the most! She later became a member of the Red Hat Ladies and enjoyed the friendships she made.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert “Bob” Berger; her son, Marc (Connie) Berger; two granddaughters, Crystal (Josh) Ova and Elsie Berger; three great-grandchildren, Asher, Isabella and Oliver; and many other dearly loved family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cecelia Woychik; sister, Lois Smith; and her twin sister, Marlys Aiken.
