Mark was born in Bismarck, North Dakota on February 11, 1955. He grew up on his family’s farm in Wilton with his brother and four sisters. Mark was adventurous and hard-working from a very young age. As a young man, Mark rode his dirt bike on solo trips from North Dakota to Alaska to work in the oil fields for long stretches of time. Later in his life, Mark moved back home to take over his father’s farm. He married Marleen (Braun) in 1990, and they had two children together, Allan (AJ) and Kacy. Mark eventually set aside his farm work and spent the rest of his career as a delivery driver. He often said it was the perfect fit because driving was one of his many favorite activities. Mark was a devoted father and husband and loved spending time with his family, playing Pinochle, and fixing things; he could fix or build anything you could imagine and was a master of all trades. He also loved spending time with his best friend, Quinn Diede; the pair grew up together and remained friends for over 60 years. Mark was described as full-of-life, kind, incredibly selfless, and passionate. Mark fought a Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis for many years; his doctors, friends, and family are very proud of his remarkable and inspiring 25-year-long battle. His spirit, smile, and laugh will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
Mark is survived by his former spouse, Marleen Anderson; children, AJ (Megan) Anderson, Kacy (Dalton Reinfeld) Anderson; siblings, Vergene Follows, Marlette Bailey, Janel (Jon) Sorenson, Melanie (Mike) DeLuca and Dennis Anderson; grandchildren, Brantley, Ledger, and Rohwan Reinfeld; and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Irene Anderson; nephew, Clark Follows; sister-in-law, Myrna Anderson; brothers-in-law, Don Follows, Ian Bailey; and many other aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
