Join us on Monday, January 29, at 11:00 AM, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck, for a Memorial Service honoring the life of Marla Torgerson.
Marla was born in Devils Lake to Marlin & Mary Torgerson on November 7th, 1964. The family moved to Canada, where Marla attended first grade. She decided school wasn’t any fun, so she ran away from home only to return shortly after. She didn’t like school but didn’t want to be away from her mommy and daddy. They later moved to California where she met Bart Wiley, who fathered her four children. The couple moved their family to North Dakota in 1995 where she would go begin work in the hospitality industry and continue for many years.
Marla had an incredible sense of humor and could be downright hilarious at times. Wherever she went, she definitely left an impression. Marla inherited her mother's delicious and creative way of cooking. She enjoyed discussing politics and was never afraid to share her opinion on events that mattered to her. She also had a unique collection of plants. Her most prized plant, she named George, is a ficus and is over 20 years old. Marla enjoyed many things throughout her life, but most of all, she loved being a mother and maybe even more a grandmother. Her beautiful smile lit up any room she entered and had the most infectious laugh. She will be missed by many and we will forever keep her in our hearts and take comfort knowing that she loved us MTA (More Than Air)
She is survived by her children; Amber (Dejan Bokan) Adam (Brooke Wiley) Amy and Auston also, eight grandchildren; Taylor, Cayden, Nora, Acen, Finley, Cru, Berkley and Dawson, seven siblings; and many cousins, nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary and father, Marlin and her grandparents.
