Marlene Jane Knodel passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024, at the age of 88, while residing at Edgewood Village Assisted Living in Bismarck ND, formerly of Minot ND. She was born on May 2, 1936, in Butte ND to Dan and Bertha (Heim) Fiedler, and also attended school in Butte. She married Elmer Knodel and resided and farmed in Drake ND. In 1975 she moved to Minot ND and was employed at Trinity Hospital and Helping Hands Care. While residing in Minot, she met her best friend Tom Webster and shared a caring, loving relationship for 30 plus years.

Marlene had a passion for polka and country music and especially enjoyed dancing and high-stepping it at the local clubs such as the Moose, VFW, and American Legion in Minot and the surrounding area. She also enjoyed watching westerns on TV, and her favorites were Gunsmoke and the Rifleman. Marlene always had a smile on her face and reminded everyone dear to her “I am always thinking of you” and “I love you”.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dan and Bertha Fiedler, her brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Evelyn Fiedler, sister Videlle Guyse, and her grandson Thomas Grad.
